College Admission Advising

Positioning Students for Admission to the Colleges of their Dreams

Signal & Trust offers offer bespoke College Advising that builds students into independent thinkers. We are a team of 3 independent advisors with over 30 combined years of college admission office experience across 7 highly selective institutions.

We help students clarify who they are, what matters to them, and where they will thrive — academically, socially, and personally.

We do not believe in chasing prestige first. We approach supporting students in building a college path that allows for personal growth, incredible confidence, and long-term educational and career success. For top students, this means admission into prestige is a requirement — we will match that need. For others, it means finding an institution that matches their values, educational interests, and academic goals. We’ll hold these as top priority for each student.

  • Fit First.

The goal of college advising is admission to a school where your student will:

    • learn deeply

    • feel challenged but supported

    • find mentors

    • make lifelong connections with friends, peers, and professors

    • build meaningful community

    • and grow into themselves

    The right environment changes everything.

  • We bring together:

    • Senior leadership experience in mission-driven organizations

    • Curriculum design and program leadership at LogicPrep

    • College advising and access work with College Possible

    • Experience as a senior leader in Colorado College Office of Admissions

    • Experience as Director of a Career Center

    • A systems-thinking lens that helps students see the bigger picture

    • A team of advisors who have worked at Harvard, Regis, Holy Cross, Colorado College, UCLA, Wellesly.

This allows us to support students who are:

    • High-achieving and unsure where they fit

    • Creative and multi-dimensional

    • International and navigating complex choices

    • Leadership-oriented and impact-driven

Our role is not to push; it’s to guide.

  • We celebrate your student as they are and help them grow into who they want to be.

We have all worked for top-tier advising firms. Here, we take a different approach to adivising: we guide the student through completing every aspect on their own to build their confidence and choose the right school for them. We never write essays for students, over-script their voices, or manufacture activity lists.

    To do this, we:

    • Ask better questions

    • Help them reflect clearly

    • Teach them how admissions actually works

    • Guide them to articulate their own thinking

    • Provide structure, accountability, and strategy

By the end of the process, students don’t just have applications — they have excitement to thrive in college.

The College Process, Done Thoughtfully

  • We begin with:

    • Strengths and interests exploration

    • Academic curiosity mapping

    • Values clarification

    • Learning-style assessment

    • Long-term goal conversations

  • We create a balanced list grounded in:

    • Academic fit

    • Campus culture

    • Class size and faculty access

    • Geographic preference

    • Social environment

    • Financial considerations

Students learn how to evaluate colleges for themselves.

  • We focus on:

    • Authentic storytelling

    • Intellectual curiosity

    • Personal growth

    • Clear voice

We help students outline, refine, and strengthen their writing — but the ideas are always theirs.

  • We provide:

    • Structured timelines

    • Clear next steps

    • Honest feedback

    • Direct communication

Families feel supported. Students feel empowered.

Who We Work With

We work best with families who:

  • Care about growth over status

  • Want their student to own the process

  • Value thoughtful decision-making

  • Understand that confidence comes from effort

This process builds more than college acceptance. It builds confidence and capability.

The Outcome

Students finish our work together with:

  • A college list that reflects who they are

  • Essays they are proud of

  • A deeper understanding of themselves

  • Strong executive functioning skills

  • The ability to advocate for themselves

And most importantly, students enter college prepared and excited to succeed.
